The beginning of a year of no — and yes

Last week I announced that I would be returning to the original intent of Motivation Monday, which was to help motivate me and you in terms of physical well-being, both diet and exercise. I also mentioned that in each post I would include a “no” and a “yes” to help motivate me toward being physically healthy. Without further adieu, here’s this week’s “no” and “yes.”

No resolution on weight loss or mileage

I am making no resolution on weight loss or mileage for this year. I’ve gone that route previously, only to fail and fall short. So this time, I’m not buying into it and I’m not going there. I’m not weighing in daily, weekly or monthly.  I’m not keeping track of my mileage walked, jogged or ran.

What I’m doing instead is this:

Yes to a 100 day challenge

I’m joining John “The Penguin” Bingham and his wife, Jenny Hadfield, in their 100 Days Challenge, to move intentionally for 30 minutes a day for 100 days. I started on Saturday and will end the challenge on April 11.

As I said last week, this is not about one year. Neither is it about a quarter of a year. This is about my life, and maybe in turn, it will help you with your life. To start, join me on the challenge (click on the link above).

  3. Good luck on your challenge!

  4. Good for you Bryan! This sounds so much more reasonable than silly “resolutions” to do this or that. Good luck and keep up the awesome challenge!

  5. I like the 100 Day challenge, it sounds like something I could stay with.

    No to dieting.
    Yes to chocolate.

  6. Ooh. I like that 100 days challenge. Good for you!

Say “no” to dieting. Say “yes” to better food choices.
